Easter

Coloring the Easter eggs and playing pirate!

The classic "B" look.

Finished decorating!

Our traditional Easter egg coffee cake.
We also had Resurrection rolls that were a big hit with the kids!
Thanks mom!

Our attempt at a family photo. (we needed you Carissa) :)

Hmm... what could be in this egg?

So excited with how many eggs he found!
Thanks Dad for hiding the eggs for the boys and us "big kids"

Every year my dad does a hunt for B and I. This year will go down in history as the first time I have ever beat B! Poor guy is not used to losing. :)

It's a boy!

As most of you know, we are expecting our 3rd child at the beginning of September. Today we had an ultrasound which revealed that we will soon be 2 little men short of a basketball team. I think I am officially outnumbered, but very excited!

Christmas and Catching up...

Here are several pictures from Christmas and some other random pictures that I haven't had a chance to post. Enjoy!

Yea, Christmas!

Patiently waiting to open their loot.

Aren't they handsome?

We woke up to "snow" on new years day.

Happy Birthday Brandon!

Playing "I can do that" for family game night

Kitchen Cabinets

We did something brave, bold and daring. Yes, we painted our kitchen cabinets. I read that white cabinets made small spaces seem bigger and I have always liked the look, so... we did a little research, were assured that we couldn't mess it up and we did it! It is not perfect, but we really like it and are thrilled with our first diy project! I am thankful to have such a handy man that isn't afraid to take risks. We still want to paint the wall a darker color to offset the white. I will post more pictures when it is complete.

Sled Dogs at Mt. Shasta

Last weekend we went up to Mt. Shasta with some friends so the kids could go on a sled dog ride. It was fun to get out in the snow and do something unique. Thanks C for not taking no for an answer and for taking the pictures. :)

This picture makes me laugh as it is a typical hiester family photo

Zach's Triathlon

This week, while Caleb was at school, Zach decided that he wanted to do his own triathlon just like his daddy. Because we don't have a swimming pool Z improvised on the swimming part. He rode his little bike around the whole loop though and made me proud. It was so cold and windy that day but he did it! Way to go little man!

Winning!

D.C.

Last month Brandon and I took an actual vacation! We went to Washington D.C. to visit my brother and sister-in-law. I can't remember when I have had a more enjoyable time. We saw so much and just enjoyed spending time with Stephen and Heather. I wish we could have stayed another week.

Arlington National Cemetery

Changing of the guard

Sharing the "date" umbrella

View of Washington monument from the Lincoln Memorial

Waiting for the metro

Lincoln Memorial. I physically ran into the Reverend Jesse Jackson. If only I had been prepared.

Washington Monument

Preparing to tour Mt. Vernon

We took a boat ride on the Potomac river. It was really windy, but beautiful. This is the view of Mt. Vernon from the boat

That is the boat we were on in the distance.

Mt. Vernon (I could have stayed several days)

Stephen and Heather

National Cathedral

Happy to be eating somewhere other than subway. (B and I have a hard time breaking the mold)

Who can resist a church with a red door?

Oh so tired but excited to be heading home to our boys.
