Mommy did it!

That's right. I attempted my first haircut as a mom. Until now I have been scared to try and for good reason. The last time I tried to cut Brandon's hair I only got half way done and then froze... Really... I left poor B sitting there looking rather pitiful covered in hair with one side of his hair a lot shorter than the other and flat out refused to finish it. Not one of my finer moments. Until last week I have had a friend cut Caleb's hair. She makes it look so easy and I guess some of her confidence rubbed off on me because I did it! Such a handsome boy if I do say so myself.

Sweet Little Z

For those of you who have been praying for our sweet Zachary... We had good news at the Doctor's today. Zach is doing much better and the Dr. was very pleased with his improvement. We will continue to do the dreaded breathing treatments for the next week and a half or so, which I think is much harder on Brandon and I then it is on Zach. Other than that he is doing really well and is as smiley as ever. Yeah! I am very thankful today!

Grace
A friend shared this poem with me and it blessed me. One thing I have noticed about having kids is how God uses them to work on me. I realize everyday how broken and flawed I am and how much I am in need of Christ. How thankful I am to receive His Amazing Grace...
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean
livin'' I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with
pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!'

Easter Egg Hunt
As tradition requires we had our annual easter egg hunt complements of my dad. Much to my chagrin Brandon slaughtered me. Come to find out I have only won the last two years because I was "pregnant"... and here I thought I was the ultimate easter egg finder...person. Alas, it was still fun to watch Caleb be completely uninterested in the eggs as he was having too much fun picking up sticks and playing in the dirt. Maybe next year? Zach was perfectly content chewing on his eggs and watching the fun play out. I think he grinned a little too happily as my title as Champion was cruelly stripped away. I will have to start training for next year. Ha!

Easter Blessings
Happy Easter everybody. We hope that this post finds you all well. If you have a few minutes to spare check out this song. It expresses beautifully the sacrifice God made for us and how grateful we are this Easter.
Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I'm a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice
Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty
Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I'm your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice
Here I am humbled by your Majesty
Covered by your grace so free
Here I am, knowing I'm a sinful man
Covered by the blood of the Lamb
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice
Majesty, Majesty
Your grace has found me just as I am
Empty handed, but alive in your hands
Majesty, Majesty
Forever I am changed by your love
In the presence of your Majesty
Here I am humbled by the love that you give
Forgiven so that I can forgive
Here I stand, knowing that I'm your desire
Sanctified by glory and fire
Now I've found the greatest love of all is mine
Since you laid down your life
The greatest sacrifice

March Madness

In honor of my favorite month in sports... isn't college basketball the only basketball that really matters? It was such a beautiful day today so we spent most of the day outside enjoying the sun. Here is Caleb practising his dunks, after all you never know when a scout will happen by. Ha! Here is to great games and KU success!
